Mjabulisi – 1 Minute Away

South African Maskandi artist Mjabulisi has introduced a new studio project titled 1 Minute Away, released on October 8, 2026. The album adds another significant chapter to his catalogue and arrives as a fresh showcase of the style and storytelling that continue to define his music.

Throughout 1 Minute Away, Mjabulisi leans into the emotional and narrative side of Maskandi, using the project to explore personal experiences, relationships and everyday realities. His vocal delivery remains at the centre of the album, supported by traditional elements and modern production that give the songs a polished but culturally grounded feel.

Tracks connected to the project include “1 MINUTE AWAY,” “IGOLIDE,” “UTHINI NGENHLIZIYO,” “ISDALA SAMI” and “ZWANATHI.” The songs help shape an album that moves through different moods while remaining consistent in tone and identity.

The new release also continues the momentum Mjabulisi built with his previous work. His 2025 album On Point introduced songs such as “IBill,” “Istory Sami” and “Lona Benimazi,” while his more recent releases have kept his name active within the Maskandi scene.

Rather than simply repeating earlier ideas, 1 Minute Away gives Mjabulisi room to show greater maturity in his songwriting and presentation. The project feels focused on growth, reflection and maintaining a strong connection with listeners who appreciate music rooted in real-life experiences.

With 1 Minute Away, Mjabulisi continues to strengthen his position within contemporary Maskandi, delivering a body of work that respects the genre’s traditions while still feeling current and personal.
