Sminofu – iTekisi

Sminofu, a South African artist, continues to build his distinctive sound with the release of iTekisi, the second track on the expansive seventeen-song project iTekisi. The 2026 release highlights an artist-driven approach that prioritizes the album’s cohesive narrative over individual singles, reflecting a project-first writing philosophy.

Positioned early in the sequence, track two of iTekisi plays a crucial role in setting the tone for what listeners can expect from the remainder of the project. With seventeen tracks in total, the album stands as a substantial body of work from the South African creative, emphasizing depth and continuity throughout its runtime.

The project-first method behind iTekisi suggests a carefully curated listening experience, where each song, including iTekisi, contributes to the overarching artistic statement rather than standing alone. This approach underlines the deliberate craftsmanship of Sminofu as he navigates the landscape of contemporary music from his unique cultural perspective.
