IGEZA LAKWAMGUBE – One more time

South African Maskandi artist IGEZA LAKWAMGUBE has returned with a new full-length project titled One More Time. Released on October 6, 2026, the album contains 14 tracks and gives the artist another opportunity to expand his catalogue with music rooted firmly in traditional South African storytelling.

One More Time is built around the expressive, narrative-driven qualities associated with Maskandi. Across the project, IGEZA LAKWAMGUBE moves through themes that touch on relationships, conflict, personal pride, everyday struggles and social experiences, while keeping the music closely connected to his cultural identity.

The album opens with “Uvele Angafi” and continues with records including “Injabulo Yethu,” “Naba Labantu,” “One More Time,” “Iqolo Lami,” “Ubunkunzi Bami,” “Ucheme Nosathane” and “Ilunda Lami.” The second half features songs such as “Awuqhathwanga,” “Ncono Siyeke,” “Hamba Sathane,” “Intengiy’sola Yona,” “Sobakhipha Ngevoti” and closing track “Ex Yami.”

The title One More Time gives the project a simple but memorable identity, while the isiZulu song titles keep the album strongly grounded in the language and storytelling tradition of Maskandi. Rather than relying on one dominant mood, the 14-track format allows IGEZA LAKWAMGUBE to move between more personal songs and records that reflect wider social experiences.

The release also shows the artist continuing to contribute to a Maskandi scene that remains highly active in South Africa. New songs from the project appeared across South African music platforms immediately after release, with tracks including “One More Time,” “Iqolo Lami,” “Ubunkunzi Bami” and “Awuqhathwanga” all arriving on October 6.

With One More Time, IGEZA LAKWAMGUBE delivers a complete Maskandi body of work centred on storytelling, emotion and cultural expression. The project gives longtime listeners plenty of new material while also serving as a strong introduction for anyone discovering his music for the first time.
